Green Tea for Weight LossSupplements to burn fat are gaining increasing popularity. In this modern world, with its fast paced life, people don't have the time of the inclination to spend an hour a day exercising. The erratic work schedule is not conducive to a healthy diet. So, more and more people are turning towards to weight loss supplements to show them the way. Apart from the several dubious products in the market, there are many products which have scientifically been proven to be effective weight loss supplements. However, it is important for people to realize that weight loss supplements cannot perform miracles. Science has not been able to create a pill that can help weight loss on its own. Any supplement has to be complemented with a healthy lifestyle-good eating habits and adequate exercise. Green tea has recently become popular as a weight loss supplement. There are several news articles to be found glorifying green tea as a weight loss solution. There is also a lot of scientific evidence which proves that the anti oxidants in green tea provide a many health benefits, the chief being protection against cancer. But how effective is green tea in helping weight loss? In Japan , a double blind study was conducted recently. In the study, a group of Japanese men consumed one bottle of high strength green tea mixture while another group partook off a bottle of low strength mixture. The results of the study were analyzed after a period of 12 weeks. It was found that the former group of men lost 1.4 kg of weight, while the latter group managed to lose only 700 grams. It is obvious that a 1.4 kg of weight loss over a period of 12 weeks is not significant. Also, it should be noted, that this study was sponsored by the green tea manufacturers. And a similar study conducted in Denmark could not duplicate the results. Green tea is, most certainly, a healthy beverage. It's delicious as well. But how far it will help you in losing weight is open to debate. |
